So did anyone see the two episodes last night?

What did you think?

Personally I quite liked it. The Style was good and I love the idea of a more adult spin on the Doctor Who-nivesre

SPOILER ALERT

I liked it. A few things bugged me, which I won't go into until a proper spoiler section is set up (Hello Master, how are things?) but suffice to say I think the Torchwood crew will become a group of people I can care about.

The thing with Capt Jack revealed at the end of the episode and the way it was revealed were totally unexpected. I can't say I saw any hint of that before it happened!

It might cause a bit of dramatic deflation in future episodes though. Sad

I liked episode three even more than one and two, though it did seem to get a little slow in the middle there for a while.

Next week is looking good with the "cyber-woman". (That sounds so... well it doesn't sound right.) Partly-upgraded-cyberman-from-a-female-subject is a bit unweildy though. Wink Embarassed Rolling Eyes

And now Cyber-Woman.

Best episode yet of Torchwood. They finally got down to fighting a real threat, and a Cyberman (or part thereof) to boot!

I was disappointed that Lisa didn't get out at the end to start a new cyber race. One that uses upgraded bodies like the good old traditional cybermen from the past.

I can't beleive they won't somehow find another partially completed cyberman, or one that managed to avoid the rift.

A few gripes. The cyber armour was a bit too... sexy for sex's sake for my mind, and the breast armour? Gotta be fake!

I liked the cyber high heeled boots though. Hmm. I wonder if the Beeb would want to brign out a line of footwear? Wink

I agree about the armour. I don't really buy the fact that if the Battle shocked Cybermen were hastily upgrading humans that they would waste time making Lisa look like a female.

High heeled boots are hardly practical for battle.

Seemed to me that they were trying for a bit of "Seven of nine" action.

They have really given Jack a bit of a Mr Nasty side in Torchwood. I like that. It complements is sense of humour rather well.

I reckon Ianto's comment about if he had the opportunity to save JAck line will have some relevance later on too.

Personally, my prediction is that it's a certainty. Probably in episode 12 as a cliffhanger for 13.

RTD (I know hw didn't write the episode, but he'll have mapped out story arcs) doesn't waste lines as significant as that one.

Good news girls and boys.

After looking like Torchwood was not going to air in Australia, the (commercial) Ten network has signed on for not only series one, but also series two. Very Happy Very Happy

http://news.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=229977

Somewhat strangely, a network spokesmodel, err ... head of programming described it as...

"Torchwood brings a sexy new twist to the traditional cop show genre..."

Ten shows Supernatural and Medium so it looks like a good fit for them.

And we can expect to see a new, younger Master in Doctor Who, if I'm not mistaken. Rolling Eyes
